South Island Tour 2019 Details

Travel on a quality touring coach, transport to and from your door, five-night’s accommodation, evening meals and cooked breakfasts, Christmas lunch.

Day 1 – Sun 22^nd Dec, Nelson – Ashburton
As we get into the spirit of the season we set off on our Christmas tour today after all door to door pick-ups. We make our way to Ashburton for the night where we will stay at the Ashburton Hotel. On arrival settle in for the night and we will join together for an evening meal.

Day 2 – Mon 23^rd Dec, Ashburton – Omarama
Today we continue south to the small township of Omarama. We will travel via Oamaru where we will stop at the Riverstone Kitchen and you can find a bite to eat for lunch. The menu here focuses on local ingredients with much of the produce from the family garden. Time is at your leisure on arrival into Omarama and a great way to unwind after a couple of days travelling is the local Hot Tubs. These are close to town and are great in the summer or winter.

Day 3 – Tue 24^th Dec, Omarama – Cromwell
We take a short drive today to Cromwell. This bustling service town has a vibrant, growing economy and is situated on the beautiful Lake Dunstan. Cromwell’s community offers a relaxed atmosphere, with good cafes, a retail centre with most services and facilities available and an aquatic centre. We will stay at ‘The Gate’ – Harvest Hotel which is in the heart of Cromwell and known for its warm and comfortable accommodation.

Day 4 – Wed 25^th Dec, Cromwell
Christmas Day and we take a drive to Queenstown for a delicious and filling lunch at the beautiful restaurant ‘Bazaar’. This restaurant has top reviews, with the food served offering fine flavours, not to mention the unparalleled views of Queenstown, Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountain ranges, including The Remarkables.

Day 5 – Thur 26^th Dec, Cromwell – Christchurch
Today we start our journey home as we head to Christchurch for a night. We will have sightseeing and breaks along the way as time allows. We will stay at the Pavilions Hotel where we will have our final dinner together before travelling home tomorrow.

Day 6 – Fri 27^th Dec, Christchurch – Nelson
After another enjoyable Christmas tour we enjoy one last cooked breakfast together before hitting the road back to Sunny Nelson with breaks along the way. On arrival into Nelson we finish the tour with a door to door drop-off.

If you have mobility issues that may concern you regarding getting on and off the coach please give us a call and we can discuss this. Please advise us of any special dietary needs. Door-to-door transport may not be available if you live out of the nearby Nelson region. The tour is subject to minimum numbers.
