South Island Tour 2022 Details

Travel on a quality touring coach, transport to and from your door, five nights’ accommodation, all evening meals, all cooked breakfasts, Christmas Day lunch, sightseeing and the Haast River Safari.

Day 1 – Fri 23^rd Dec, Nelson – Fox Glacier
Today we begin our Christmas Tour after picking you up from your door. We will head south to Fox Glacier, stopping in Reefton for lunch. After lunch we will continue to Fox Glacier where we will be staying at Heartland Hotel for the night. The evening meal will be in the Hotel.

Day 2 – Sat 24^th Dec, Fox Glacier – Haast
This morning will not be an early start so enjoy a little lie in before having breakfast then we will continue our journey south to Haast. Hopefully you will have time to have a look around Fox Glacier I’m sure David will take you to lots of interesting little places before leaving for Lake Matheson near Fox Glacier for lunch. The waters of Lake Matheson create a beautiful reflection of New Zealand’s highest peaks – Aoraki (Mount Cook) and Mount Tasman. After lunch and taking in the stunning scenery, we will continue to Haast and take part in a Haast River Safari. Tonight, we will stay in Haast at a hotel also named Heartland . All meals will be at the Hotel.

Day 3 – Sun 25^th Dec, Haast
Haast is famous for its dramatic landscapes. Situated on the western edge of Mount Aspiring National Park This is where you will be having Christmas a day to rest and with some scenic trips with David of the area also a lovely traditional Christmas Lunch.

Day 4 – Mon 26^th Dec, Haast – Hokitika
We will travel from Haast back up to lovely Hokitika. Tonight, we will stay at the Beachfront Hotel and have a wonderful meal within the hotel. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy one of the coasts beautiful sunsets.

Day 5 – Tue 27^th Dec, Hokitika – Nelson
Today we leave the beautiful West Coast and begin our journey home to Nelson.

If you have mobility issues that may concern you regarding getting on and off the coach please give us a call and we can discuss this. Please advise us of any special dietary needs. Door-to-door transport may not be available if you live out of the nearby Nelson region. The tour is subject to minimum numbers.
