West Coast Tour 2021 Details

Includes travel on a quality touring coach, transport to and from your door, two-night’s accommodation; (as the hotels in Westport are unable to cater for us we will be staying in motels for all evening meals &  cooked breakfasts, will be at the Quarry Restaurant which is very close to the motels) lunch in Karamea, all organized activities/attractions.

Day 1 – Friday 19th November: Nelson to Westport

We will start the day with a door to door-pick up before setting off for the picturesque West Coast. We take a leisurely drive over the Spooners Range, Hope Saddle and Buller Gorge as we make our way into Westport. After checking into our accommodation we will head to the centre of town and have a look around the new relocated Coal Town Museum. If time allows you will be able to have a little time shopping.

Day 2 – Saturday 20th November: Westport & surrounding area

For our second day we will be heading to Hector for a very enjoyable and interesting stop at the Hector Country Music Heritage Museum run by musician and radio presenter DJ Barry Skinner with the support of his wife Judy. They opened the museum in 2002, a real gem of music history. After that little stop there we head over the bluffs into Karamea for light lunch (included in package) at the Last Resort. On the way back to Westport and if time allows us, we will stop at a few local pubs and enjoy the hospitality. Our evening meal tonight will be at the Quarry Restaurant.

Day 3 – Sunday 21st November: Westport to Nelson

After a lovely and interesting time spent on the West Coast, learning a lot and taking in a little of what the West Coast has to offer. We will head to Charleston to take a ride on the Nile River Rainforest Train. This is short interpretative train ride in an open carriage through primeval rainforest. From here, we will continue on our journey back to Nelson and deliver you back to your homes.

If you have mobility issues that may concern you regarding getting on and off the coach please give us a call and we can discuss this. Please advise us of any special dietary needs. Door-to-door transport may not be available if you live out of the nearby Nelson region. The tour is subject to minimum numbers.
